Don’t be boring in Autumn
Just because autumn gets all grey and brown doesn’t mean we need to dress in the same tones. I’ve picked out some pieces with colour that should stand out nicely from the season.
Stella McCartney — Mid-rise straight-leg trousers: €330
These trousers have a great design feature at the top on the front with the pocket seams, but more importantly they look well fitted and comfortable. I’ve struggled with finding good trousers for my slight 28″ waist, but I’m sure that I’d feel pretty good in these (if they were available in my size!).
Raf Simons — Striped wool cropped sweater: €520
Pretty great colour combo (always been a fan of blue and red) and the strange asymmetry of the sleeve lengths is pretty neat. Pair it with a long shirt for some extra weirdness.
Prada — Geometric cotton socks: €90
I’ve always been a fan of statement socks, and these have plenty to say. Would make you look extra good when jumping in piles of autumn leaves.
Diemme — Roccia Vet lace-up suede boots: €383
Because they’re suede, maybe you wouldn’t jump in piles of leaves, but the rich blues and white are a great contrast to stand out and matched with the socks should have a good presence!
Bonus item: Junya Watanabe — Contrast-panel hooded cotton parka: €1,551
Since it’s getting colder I thought I should add some kind of outerwear too! The two slight variant greens and the tweed add a cool textural quality. Perhaps this is more meshing with traditional autumnal colours, I just liked the patchiness of it and the neck warmer/hood is a great design feature too.
